ABSTRACT-BASED AWARDS-NEW CRITERIA!

Your abstract, upon acceptance, may be considered for any of the following awards.  Please note: abstracts that are selected for any of the following will be awarded to a single individual on behalf of the abstract.  The contact author will be notificed of abstracts receiving the award, to provide the appropriate name to receive the award.

Annual Scientific Awards
Recognizes the top 10 abstracts submitted based on outstanding research at the SCCM Congress. SCCM membership is not required for eligibility. 

Specialty Awards
These awards are given to the top scoring abstract in each of the following categories.  Winners will receive complimentary registration to the 2008 Congress.

Burns/ Trauma
Cardiovascular
Cell Biology ( NO and Signal Transduction, Signal Transduction)
CPR
Education
Endocrine
Epidemiology/Outcomes
Ethics
GI/Nutrition
Hematology
Hepatic
Immunology
Infection
Neurology
Pulmonary
Renal
Sepsis
Therapeutics


Research Citations

30 Finalists will be selected and the top 5 Citations (announced on site) will receive Future Complimentary registration at the 2009 Critical Care Congress. In order to qualify for award consideration, abstracts MUST be accepted for presentation at the 37th Critical Care Congress. Research Citations will be selected from the top 20 percent of accepted Congress abstracts. Finalists will be notified of their status and will participate in an on-site judging of their poster at the Congress and (5) winners will be announced during the Poster Hall Awards Ceremony. 


The Following Awards must be applied for through Abstract Submission PRocess:


The In-Training Award
Applicant must be in a critical care training program or have ended training not more than one (1) year prior to the Congress.  Apply for this award through abstract submission when completing your abstract.  Applicants must also have a Director submit a letter detailing your training status, the dates of their fellowship/training by September 5, 2007 to congress@sccm.org.

The Young Investigator Award
Applicant must have completed a training program at least 18 months but not more than six (6) years prior to the Congress. Apply for this award through abstract submission when completing your abstract. Please have your Director submit at letter a letter detailing your status by September 5, 2007 to congress@sccm.org.
